Our Mission

KordAva Production is a Helsinki-based cultural production organization dedicated to advancing Middle Eastern and North African music and culture through high-quality artistic production, collaboration, and international exchange.

We create and support projects that bring together artists, musicians, communities, and audiences across cultural and geographical boundaries. Our work is rooted in the richness and diversity of Middle Eastern and North African musical traditions while embracing contemporary artistic practices and new forms of expression.

We provide platforms for artists to develop their work, reach new audiences, and build meaningful connections in Finland and internationally. Through concerts, festivals, recordings, workshops, residencies, and collaborative projects, we create spaces where different artistic traditions can meet, evolve, and generate something new.

KordAva’s mission is to make Middle Eastern and North African music and culture a vital, visible, and evolving part of Finland’s cultural landscape and international artistic exchange.

KordAva Records is the music label of KordAva Production, releasing new music from artists who move between the traditions of the Middle East, North Africa and the Nordic region.

About the album

Mustien perhosten silta is the new album by Helsinki-based Sufi electro-prog trio Mood Suprim, created in collaboration with three Sámi joik artists: Ulla Pirttijärvi, Hanna-Maaria Kiprianoff and Ulpu Mattus.

The album grew out of Sufi-Suomalainen, a project exploring identity, belonging, and the many ways of being rooted in the land called Finland.

At the heart of the album is an encounter between two peoples whose homelands transcend modern borders: the Sámi and the Kurds. Their histories and traditions are different, yet the meeting creates a space for shared voices, memory, movement and new musical forms.

The album brings together three Sámi languages — Inari Sámi, Skolt Sámi and Northern Sámi — with Mood Suprim’s distinctive blend of hypnotic rhythms, mystical melodies, electronic textures and Sufi-inspired movement.
